PNDA (Angola) (original) (raw)

Originally styled the Angolan National Democratic Convention (Convenção Nacional Democrático de Angola - CNDA), the PNDA in September 1992 supported the presidential candidacy of Daniel Julio Chipenda, an independent who had reportedly left the MPLA in protest at the party's decision to present Dos Passos as its standard-bearer. Chipenda captured only .52 of the presidential vote, with the PNDA winning one seat in the Angolan National Assembly.
